New Year - New Me!

Monday - Friday
I will get up at 6am.
I will take my vitamins and eat breakfast.
I will excersize 30 minutes.
I will do a load of laundry.
I will play preschool with Dakota.
I will only waste 1 hour on Face Book.
I will watch less TV - use DVR.
I will schedule my work and work my schedule.

It is my goal to be a happier, healthier, and more focused in 2012. Cheers to a New Year and a New Me!

Opening night at the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus was amazing! It was fun for the whole family. Mikayla 11, loved the Tigers. Brandon 9, was surprised there was a live band and amazed by the tight rope walkers. Tristan 4 laughed at the clowns dressed up as super heroes. Dakota 2 danced in her seat and was excited to see Dumbo. She had watched Dumbo every night for a week prior to the show and had to watch it when we got home! I really enjoyed all the acrobats and Ian was amazed they could fit so many motorcycles into the cage. It was a great family night. One we will cherish forever. Mikayla - Models on a Mission Fashion Show

Brandon - Bear Camp

Brandon and I shared some quality time at Bear Camp (Camp Nash - Baloo campsite). 2 days, one night filled with boy scout activities. He made a tool box, rope and pouch. He learned to set up a tent, shoot BB guns, archery, whittling, and much more. His favorite event swimming in the Priate ship. At the camp fire he and his den performed an invisible bench skit. It was hilarious! At the campfire they retired a flag. The ceremony was very moving and inspirational. Something we will never forget. Bear Camp was a great experience, looking forward to the next camping trip.

Great Weekend

Friday - Halloween parties at school. Mikayla was a Rebel Fairy and Brandon was a Crypt Master. Both had a great time and I had fun too. After school Mikayla donated 10inches of her hair to Locks of Love. She was so excited and loves her new hair cut. She wrote a note to send with her hair that said "I love my hair and hope you do too!" She was excited to show off her new hair to her friends at Madison's slumber party.

Saturday - We went to Lowes where Brandon and Tristan built monster mirrors. It was a lot of fun. Since it was their first time Lowes gave them tool aprons and a couple of past projects to work on at home. We will definitely go again. I liked that it was something both Brandon 8yrs and Tristan 3yrs could do. On the way home we bought a pumpkin. Brandon drew a couple of faces on it. Then Brandon and Dakota pulled all the yucky stuff out. I had to finish it of course. I carved out the face Brandon liked best. I think it turned out pretty good for being the first pumpkin I ever carved and using a knife and spoon. No fancy carving kit for us! Afterwards Brandon and I played catch with a Nerf football. That night I asked him what the best part of his day was and he said playing catch with me. I couldn't believe it! Something so simple made his day. I'd play catch with him everyday if that's all it takes to make him happy.

Sunday - I made scrambled eggs with cheese and ham for Ian and Dakota, this is becoming a routine breakfast for them. Which is fine by me since its easy to make. So cute to watch them eating together. Church at The Vineyard was amazing as always. However Dakota was upset to I had to leave the service early. They are needing lots of help in the children's church so I am going to volunteer in the infant/toddler room at least one Sunday a month. Maybe I can get my sister to volunteer in the older kids room that same day. I think she would enjoy working with the kids.

First day of school

Time flies when you're having fun! School has officially begun. Mikayla is now in 5th Grade and Brandon is in 2nd. Mikayla is ready to rule the school and Brandon is ready meet some new friends. They both had a great first day. Both have great Teachers. I am excited to be more involved in PTA this year. My duties as secretary, outside events and reflections are sure to keep me busy along with all the other volunteer opportunities thru out the year. Not to mention I still have the little ones at home to take care of and my business. Going to be a great year for all of us!

Vacation

Gma, the kids and I took a little vaca to Omaha,NE. We had a great time! We stayed at the Holiday Inn, our room was adjacent to the indoor pool which was awesome! They even had an indoor playground next to the pool. It was perfect for us. We went to CoCo Keys. Tj loved the slides and lazy river. Kayla made a friend in the pool playing basketball. Brandon loved the tube water slides. I had so much fun racing them both. Climbing the stairs was exhausting but worth the ride.
Day 2 we went to the zoo. It was amazing. The sky safari was a fun way to start our day. Brandon loved the sharks, Kayla loved the big cats, Tristan loved the turtles, and Dakota loved it all. It was neat to experience all the different climates. Each exhibit felt like we were on a special journey. We will definitely be returning soon. After dinner we went back to CoCo Key for some more fun!
Day 3 we went to the children's museum. Wow! Way better than I expected. Tristan enjoyed the pretend play, Mikayla enjoyed the Arts, and Brandon made a friend in the ball and science area, and Dakota loved the water table. We meet some amazing kids that touched my heart. A disabled boy that had a loving brother and 2 cousins that took care of him. I never saw the parents but these kids were truly special.
It was a great trip. Looking forward to going back and visiting the Air and Space museum.

Babies are home!

My babies are home again! Yeah! Mikayla and Brandon went to Washington D.C. with their dad and step mom. They had a great time. Did a lot of walking. I think it was a great experience for them. Definitely will make history class more interesting for them. I am so glad they are home. Even tho the stress level and the noise level goes up with 4 kids in the house. I feel whole again. Let the fun begin!

What a week! Ian and I watched several movies this week. Some good some not so good. Here's what's On Demand-
The book of Eli - Great movie! Love Densel Washington.
Remember Me - So good we watched it twice! I was not a Robert Pattinson fan but love him in this movie. If you have not seen this one its a must see!
When in Rome - Cute Romantic Comedy could have been better.
From Paris with Love - Action movie - love John Travolta as a bad ass however hate his costar. Not sure if was the role or bad acting but wish someone else was cast in his role, would have made movie better.

Last but not least we went to Main St 6 cinema suites (dinner&movie lazy boy recliners) with Laura and Vicki to see Eclipse. We had a great time! Loved the theater, Loved the movie. Ian fell asleep and was awakened by the vibrating lazy boy recliner. It was so funny to see him jump and say what happened to Jacob? Where's Jacob? LOL Glad to see we are both Team Jacob. Will see it again, cant wait for final movie to see if Bella becomes a vampire and who she picks. NO I have not read the books. I hope that the movie changes the ending from the book. Just so ya'll have something to talk about. Definitely going back to Main St 6.

Wolf Camp

This week Brandon (7yrs old) advanced from a Tiger to a Wolf. He attend the North Star day camp. Lots of fun in the mud and heat. Luckily it rained in the evenings after camp. He was exhausted and covered in dirt, sweat and mud every day. He had a great time tho he was most excited about the cool glasses he bought at the camp store. LOL It was fun for me too. I love being able to do activities with each of my kids on a one on one basis. Which doesn't happen as often as I would like with 4 kids. Usually the little ones steal my attention. Thank goodness they were not allowed at camp. That would have been a disaster!

I feel like Gandhi is talking to me. I have so many things I want to do and need to do. I need to focus on Whats Important Now (WIN) I am the CEO of my family and my business. First things first. Gotta get my house in order. One room at a time. My room first so CEO Dad is happy. Then the living rooms and kitchen. Oh and my arch enemy Laundry needs some attention too. Just going to put up some caution tape over the kids rooms they can wait. A some what clean house will make me feel better. A happy mom means a happy family :) In my business I need to focus on building my contact list and setting appointments. Add one contact a day and set an appointment a day. This is so easy. Its all about adding a brick to my tower each day. One day my tower will be so tall and strong I will be able to stand at the top and yell I made it! (and hire a maid)

Nov. 11th, 1996 the greatest man I ever knew passed away. Everyday I think about him and miss him. Today I went to visit his grave. On the way there I was remembering him. His smile, tickles, hugs and kisses, Yankee dimes, knuckle sandwiches, late night Taco Bell, QT mug (never knew if it was tea or beer), day time naps, dirty boots, skoal can, loud Rock n Roll music, tube socks n shorts, glasses, wasps in tents whoa whoa whoa!, teaching me to drive in the dark, the list goes on and on. As these memories ran thru my head the tears rolled down my face. The song Safe by Phil Wickham came on the radio. The words comforted me as I arrived at the cemetery. So I wanted to share the lyrics with you in hopes you may find comfort on this Memorial day.

Wedding Madness!

My cousin got married on Sat. It was a beautiful wedding! Mikayla was a flower girl. Brandon and Tristan were ring bearers. I had a bright idea to take the kiddos to the park in the morning, have lunch then come home take baths and naps before going to wedding. Great idea. However nothing ever goes as planned with 4 kids. We had a great time at the park. Had a picnic lunch. Came home took baths. But the little boogers would not take a nap! OH NO! I couldn't have them be exhausted for the wedding! After fighting them to take naps I gave up and started getting ready to go. In hopes they would sleep in the car. Call gma to confirm time and that she had the boys suits. NO suits! She thought I had them! So now I have 2 ring bearers with shirt, tie, socks, belt and shoes but no suit! Gma saves the day by running to Khols to get black pants. Still don't know what happened to the suits? Kids took a 30min nap in the car. Boys are dressed looking super cute. Tristan falls and busts his lip. Luckily not to bad little bit of blood but he was fine after 10min and a pop tart. But he will not sit still so Tristan, Dakota and I are in the back of the venue trying to be quiet which is hard to do with a 1yr and 3yr old. When its time for the ring bearers to go Tristan races Brandon down the isle. Yeah he made it! Wait he's coming back! I grab him and out the door we go. I miss the ceremony but hey at least he did his part and we didn't ruin it with screaming kids.
Reception time! Tristan is ready to dance! I make a plate of food but before I get to sit down we go outside to take pics. There is a lovely waterfall and pond. While I am taking a pic with the Bride Dakota falls in! OMG! No problem I have another cute dress for her, changed her right there and off she went like nothing happened. I go back inside to eat. Oh no my plate is gone. No problem I'll make another. Well just my luck the buffet is gone! There is still hope as they are setting up chocolate fountains and the cake! The Cake is my favorite part and it was delicious! I knew it was going to be as I helped her pick it out ;) So party is in full swing, Tristan and Brandon are hamming it up on the dance floor. Mikayla is babysitting the other flower girl and playing with her cousins. Dakota is tired. I just wished I had eight arms or a DD and a babysitter. Did I mention it was an open bar? Didn't get to take advantage of that but by the time we got home I needed a drink! So Mikayla is invited to a cousin slumber party. So I load up my 4 plus 1. We stop by my house so Mikayla can change and get some stuff. We head to the slumber party. Get a little lost due to a detour in the dark but no problem I figure my way out. Kids start screaming and jumping around. Tristan puked! All over himself and Mikayla. Ugh! No problem. Plus 1 get up front. Mikayla and Brandon share a seat. Tristan DO NOT MOVE! Drop the girls off. Get lost in the detour again. Will I ever get home? Yes! Home at last! Brandon stays in car with sleeping baby. While I take Tristan straight to the bath. Get Dakota and Brandon out of car. Tristan out of bath. Everyone to bed. Take my vitamins and go to sleep. 1am Gma texts me her car broke down. Thankfully I have 2 brothers and a sister as I am not getting out of bed!

As kids we could not wait to grow up. Life was not fair. We couldn't do whatever we wanted whenever wanted. How great would it be to be an Adult! LOL Now look at us. We are adults and sometimes we wish we could go back being a kid!
So now that we are adults and we can do whatever we want whenever we want, What are we doing? Now is the time to live the life we want to live! Do the things we want to do. Go the places we want to go. What are we waiting for? If you are anything like me, I can come up with a hundred excuses not to do something. My excuses usually involve the kids, time or money. When in reality they are just excuses! You can do anything you put your mind too! You can make it happen if you really want to. So I say NO MORE Excuses! Live the life you want to live!

I have taken the first step in living the life I want to live. For eleven years I worked full time as a Retail Manager. I liked my job, mostly the people I worked with. Made more money than any of my friends even the ones with college degrees. BUT My heart was at home with my kiddos. Finally my prayers where answered. I came across an ad for Internet CEO Moms and was scared to death when Aubrey and Amber called me. But my heart was over flowing with joy. They offered me an opportunity of a life time! An opportunity to stay at home with my babies. I am so glad I that I found that ad, answered the phone and listened to the info. It truly has changed my life. I now can live the life I want to live with the support of a wonderful team of moms who are just like me. Thank you to Aubrey for introducing me to this company and Amber for guiding me in building my business. I am truly blessed.

A mother holds her children's hands for a while...their hearts forever.

This week was a very busy week filled with lots of activities. As we celebrated teacher appreciation week and Mother's day I couldn't help but give my kids extra hugs and kisses. This week reminded me how blessed I am to have such wonderful kids. They had so much fun making gifts for their teachers. I had fun covering Mrs. Andrade's first grade class for an hour while she was treated to a special lunch. I got a glimpse at what she deals with everyday. Bless her heart and all the teachers for teaching our children and having the patience to deal with all their little/big personalities. The kids were so cute. They made Mother's day cards then we made a Thank You book for Mrs. Andrade. Each of them wrote a note to her about why she was special to them. Happy Mother's day to all the moms and teachers!

A Hundred Years From Now...it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the car I drove... But the world may be a different place because I was important in the life of a CHILD.

Saturday, May 1st Tristan turned 3! Wow how time flys by fast! All weekend he has been driving his new truck, with Dakota riding shot gun ofcourse! They are so cute. They both jump out to push when they get stuck. lol

Saturday was also May Launch! Great training and exciting announcements! Cant wait to share all the info with my team and help them grow. With any business you must have customers so our focus is on critical activity 1 keep building contact list and 2 setting appointments. We are so blessed to have an awesome leadership council that has taught us step by step how to build our business. It was neat to see one of our leaders, Michelle train others on the simple things CEO Moms do to be successful. Thats the key...Keep it Simple! and do it again and again and again. As everyone else was writing down every word Michelle said, I simply nodded my head. Every week I get to listen to Amber, Michelle, Donna, Micki, Keely and the rest of the leaders teach and inspire us! Thank you so much!

Begin by thinking of your home as a toxic waste dump. The average home today contains 62 toxic chemicals - more than a chemistry lab at the turn of the century. More than 72,000 synthetic chemicals have been produced since WWII. Less than 2% of synthetic chemicals have been tested for toxicity, mutagenic and carcinogenic effects, or birth defects. The majority of chemicals have never been tested for long-term effects.

An EPA survey concluded that indoor air was 3 to 70 times more polluted than outdoor air.
Another EPA study stated that the toxic chemicals in household cleaners are3 times more likely to cause cancer than outdoor air.

CMHC reports that houses today are so energy efficient that "out-gassing" of chemicals has no where to go, so it builds up inside the home.
We spend 90% of our time indoors, and 65% of that time at home. Moms,infants and the elderly spend 90% of their time in the home.

National Cancer Association released results of a 15-year study concluding that women who work in the home are at a 54% higher risk of developing cancer than women who work outside the home.Cancer rates have almost doubled since 1960.

Cancer is the Number ONE cause of death for children.
There has been a 26% increase in breast cancer since 1982. Breast cancer is the Number ONE killer of women between the ages of 35 and 54.

Primary suspects are laundry detergents, household cleaners and pesticides.There has been a call from the U.S./Canadian Commission to ban bleach in North America. Bleach is being linked to the rising rates of breast cancer in women, reproductive problems in men and learning and behavioral problems in children.

Chemicals get into our body through inhalation, ingestion and absorption. We breathe 10 to 20 thousand liters of air per day.There are more than 3 million poisonings every year. Household cleaners are the Number ONE cause of poisoning of children.

Since 1980, asthma has increased by 600%. The Canadian Lung Association and the Asthma Society of Canada identify common household cleaners and cosmetics as triggers.ADD/ADHD are epidemic in schools today.

Behavioral problems have long been linked to exposure to toxic chemicals and molds.
Chemical and environmental sensitivities are known to cause all types of headaches.

Labeling laws do not protect the consumer - they protect big business. The New York Poison Control Center reports that 85% of product warning labels were either inadequate or incorrect for identifying a poison, and for first aid instructions.

Formaldehyde, phenol, benzene, toluene, xylene are found in common household cleaners, cosmetics, beverages, fabrics and cigarette smoke. These chemicals are cancer causing and toxic to the immune system.

Chemicals are attracted to, and stored in fatty tissue. The brain is a prime target for these destructive organics because of its high fat content and very rich blood supply.
The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has found more than 2500 chemicals in cosmetics that are toxic, cause tumors, reproductive complications, biological mutations and skin and eye irritations.

Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, circulatory disorders, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease,irritable bowel syndrome, depression, and hormonal problems are diseases commonly related to chemical exposure.
